Verse of the day

Pray continuously. 1 Thesselonians ch. 5:17

Continuos prayer sounds virtually impossible. However, my feeling is that we are supposed to constantly be seeking guidance from the Lord to stay strong in our virtues and to lean on Him in order to do what's right. Prayer is our way to talk to God, and He is our heavenly father and wants to hear from us because of His love for us.

Prayer
I heard a great analogy like this: Parents know what's good for their children and could give them everything they ever needed or wanted. But they don't give everything to them to start. An infant definitely can't get out on that "Hog" that someday he/she will want--they of course have to grow to a certain height, learn safety, get a license......

How would we ever grow to be the mature persons that we are if our parents did everything for us and kept us out of everything that they . We would vegetate and never go out into the world. Our gifts would never be used where they are most needed.

God (Dad) can answer our prayers before we ask, but when we ask him, it's like the parent who hears the child asking for help, or comfort, or comes and tells them all about the joy that's in their heart. He desires that we acknowledge Him in that way. It is worship----and that's what we were created for----DF-Oswego
